Ōmaru Creek springs out of the north western ridge-line capped with St Heliers Bay Road. It runs 3.2 kilometers as a long undulating stream through the center of the Glen Innes suburb, through Point England Reserve, into the Wai o Taiki Bay and then the Tāmaki Estuary, which connects into the Waitemata Harbour.
In 2014 and 2015 the community worked alongside Auckland Council and approximately 100 volunteers from groups and families in and around Glen Innes to plant 900 native trees at the Maybury section of Ōmaru Creek.
